Russia 2 - St Petersburg

No trip to St Petersburg is complete without a visit to the Winter Palace that was the main residence of the Russian Emperors.  It was constructed between 1754 and 1762. The Palace Square is quite enormous and at its centre is the 47m tall Alexander Column.
